Keith Roysdon, Business Editor of The Muncie Star Press, created the series of reports and is organizing a series of lectures to address the issues. Muncie is struggling with rising unemployment, blighted buildings, lost population and departing jobs.
Bart Peterson’s experience in dealing with tough issues combined with his education and business background give him a unique and informed perspective on teh challenges facing many communities in tough times.
Education: law degree, University of Michigan, 1983; bachelor’s degree, Purdue University, 1980
Business career: president of the Precedent Co., a family-owned real estate company started by his father.
Political career: served as executive assistant for environmental affairs and later as chief of staff for Gov. Evan Bayh, 1989-95; elected Indianapolis mayor, 1999; re-elected 2003.
