The Friends of Muncie Public Library, a volunteer group
dedicated to raising funds in support of Library programs,
will hold the following meetings:
Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 5:30 p.m.
Friends Board meets for regular business meeting.
Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 6 p.m.
ANNUAL MEETING. Current members, new members and those wishing to join are encouraged to attend this meeting. Nominations will be taken and appointments will be made for Board Members. (A brief meeting will follow for newly elected officers.)
The Friends meet every other month, plan and hold book sales and distribute funds to support many Muncie Public Library programs, such as the Reading Programs for Children. Join now!

The time has come! The 2009 Muncie Public Library Edible Book Festival is back! This year’s event will be held on Saturday, April 4, at the Kennedy Library. This event is based upon the International Edible Book Festival which involves participants creating edible works of art based on books.
Information about entry guidelines may be found here. Registration forms may be picked up at any MPL location, or printed from here and returned to any MPL location. Online Registration is also available.

An attorney from Indiana Legal Services, Inc. in Indianapolis will provide free and confidential legal advice on civil matters. If you have legal questions, you can get answers. Please stop at the Reference Desk on the day of the event to put your name on the list for first come, first served basis.

***To be eligible for these services, a person must have a household income that is less than 125 percent of the federal poverty income level, meaning an income of $13,000 for a one-person household, or an income of $26,500 for a four-person income. Those ages 60 or older are eligible for services regardless of income or household size.***

Saturday, January 10 at 11 a.m.
Artist Margaret Cantrell will discuss her recently published book, Koyuki: The Story of Little Snow. Cantrell created original artwork for the book, which is on display at Maring-Hunt Library throughout January. Books will be available for sale and signing at the Book Talk event.
